Performance requirements

After the optical fiber connector is protected by the connector box, it should be protected from moisture erosion, the attenuation of the optical fiber connector before protection should not be increased, and it should meet the following requirements:

 

a. Optical properties

The remaining optical fiber in the optical cable connector box is coiled in the optical fiber placement device. During the installation and use of the optical cable connector box, the optical fiber connector should have no obvious additional attenuation.

 

b.Sealing performance

After the optical cable connector box is packaged according to the prescribed operating procedures, the inflation pressure in the optical cable connector box is (100±5) kPa. It should be immersed in a clean water container at normal temperature and observed steadily for 15 minutes. There should be no bubbles escaping, or a 24-hour barometer should be observed stably. There should be no change in instructions.

 

c.Resealing performance

The optical cable connector box is tested after being packaged three times according to the prescribed operating procedures. The inflation pressure in the optical cable connector box is (100±5) kPa. If it is immersed in a clean water container at room temperature and observed steadily for 15 minutes, no bubbles will escape. Or if the barometer indication is observed stably for 24 hours, there should be no change.

 

d.Mechanical properties

 

After passing the following tests, there should be no change in the optical cable connector box body and all parts inside the box. If necessary, conduct light inspection or open the box body for inspection. For each of the following tests, the optical cable connector box should be filled with (60±5) kPa air pressure. There should be no change in the air pressure after the test; there should be no bubbles escaping when immersed in a clean water container at normal temperature for 15 minutes or the barometer indicators should be observed stably for 24 hours. There should be no changes, and the shell and its components should be free of cracks, damage and obvious deformation.
